Cartograms

1. A cartogram is a map that shows data proportionately to the land. They are useful because they can help to see which country is most populated or has/had the most slaves. They can show how many __ are in each country.

                                            Teenage Mothers

This cartogram shows how many teenage mothers are in the world.  A third of all the teenage mothers in the world live in India, and the fewest teenage mothers are in Japan. I chose this cartogram because the question, who has the most teenage mothers in the world, so this answered it for me.

                           Total Children

This cartogram shows how many children there are in the world. Children under 15 are shown in this map. In Uganda and Niger, half the population is under 15 years old. In 2004 there were only 1,826 million children under 15. I chose this cartogram because I always though that the U.S had the most kids, but this showed me otherwise.
